And Then There Were Three

I wasn't surprised that Allison got the boot on AI. She's a great kid but she was seriously out-gunned. Adam is a professional entertainer who can distort perfectly good songs and get away with it. I don't want to like him but he has this whole "charisma, good looks, insane vocal range and blue hair" thing going for him. It's a winning combination.

Danny has some skills though I was a bit worried that his final note, a Psycho-esque screech, would kill the Gokey buzz. It didn't. His fans aren't going to let a little pig squealing change their minds about him. Here is the Gokster's final notes from his infamous rendition of "Scream On" oops, I mean... "Dream On." I hope you have the stomach for it.

Kris was the sweet one who's GINORMOUS female following kept him in contention. He has shown some stamina and skill in the last few weeks and I think I underestimated him. I liked how he sang the Beatles, "Come Together", though the judges lambasted him for it. Shut up judges.

I won't even comment about Paula's little dance number. Nooo comment.

OK, maybe just a little comment. Crappy lyrics, old moves, ho-hum.

And, what's with Gwen Stefani? She jerked herself around the stage, leaped all over the audience, nearly wiped out jumping off the riser and generally looked like an eedjit.

Then she did PUSH-UPS in the middle of the song. And what was with the weird voice? I don't remember "Just a Girl" sounding so forced. Maybe she'd been snorting something backstage... like her drummer did. Wouldn't you have to be off your face to wear this??

Unlike Kristina, I'm not one to judge, but how seriously can you take a rock band who's drummer wears a tutu? I hope this is just a temporary drug addiction. Any more of this rubbish and they'll have to change their name from "No Doubt" to "No Class."

21 brilliant observations:

I don't watch AI, but that makes me so sad! I love Gwen and No Doubt.

Adam (glambot) is going to win. Gokey has to goooo, I can't stand him. Kris is the only one I think I could hang with out of the three. I liked Alisson, I'll miss her. And I thought the same thing about Paula!

Sadly, AI makes me uncomfortable. But the tutu really makes me wish I was a fan. That's a GOOD uncomfortable!

Don't have me, but I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Adam Lambert!!!!!

Wow I think Kristina and I are the only ones in the whole world who don't watch AI. Last night I had a call with my team in the US and they were watching it on Youtube during a break!!! Nice summary though.

Yeah, that results show was just plain weird. Almost as bad as the un-rehearsed Bette Midler slaughtering one of her own hits a season or two ago...
Hey, I am having a 100th post giveaway - even if you don't like the prize, it would still make an ok gift! heehee

I haven't checked on you and your blog for a while.

Totally with you on the No Doubt thing. I used to love that song, but sung the way it was last night, it's just, well, for lack of a better word, bad.

I was SO hoping Adam Lambert would get voted off. It's been awhile since there has been a major shocking upset on a reality show.

Where is the warning? I still haven't seen this weeks AI, but now I don't have to. (:

Unfortunately, I'm so out of the loop I haven't a clue what you are rambling about! However, it seems to me that you are totally onto the happenin' scene and know what is really goin' down.
Once again, I think you are awesome.

I just have to say thanks, because my life would not have been complete without that clip of Danny OR the vision of the dancing drummer burned into my retinas.

What is American Idol coming to??? And now I'm dying to see a clip of Paula dancing... it's been years.

Adam has grown on me as well -- he can do some amazing stuff and has great stage presence. HE WILL go places regardless. I am a fan of Danny and Kris is just soooooo dang cute. will be interesting.
Gwen's performance was insane.

I don't have strong opinions on the 3 remaining contestants...altho I think Adam is going to win. Meh. He's got alot of talent--but I don't see myself buying his music or following his career.

My 2 cents on Paula tho--- ACK! Scary! Where are her friends, producers, choreographers in this DECADE? I was embarrassed FOR her...she's nearly 50 years old and the song was something a teeny-bopper would sing...except the dance moves were so 80's. It was like watching a tornado rip up a trailer park...scary but you had to see what was gonna fly next!

You are a crack up! I so wish I hadn't missed the Gwen Stephani performance but your description is a riot!
I am an Adam fan. He's just good. I like Gokey too.
I think Adam is going to make it no matter what so I hope Danny wins so he can have a shot!

I must say I am an Adam fan. He does make funny faces but has an incredible range you cannot deny!!! He really can sing anything and make it his very own. But I'm not so sure the more conservative crowd will agree. I'm thinking Kris might just take it...
